    The Role of Automation in Clinical Laboratory Testing: Current and Future

    Speaker: Dr Sharon Saw, Principal Scientific Officer, NUHS

    Dr Sharon Saw is the Principal Scientific Officer in the Department of Laboratory Medicine at the National University Hospital, Singapore. Dr Saw graduated from the National University of Singapore with a PhD in Clinical Chemistry. With extensive expertise and with more than 20 years experience in clinical diagnostics and laboratory automation, she has been at the forefront of advancing efficiency and accuracy in diagnostic workflows.

    Her work bridges clinical practice and innovation, focusing on how automation can transform laboratory medicine to meet evolving healthcare needs. Dr Saw brings a wealth of experience and forward-looking insights into the future of diagnostic laboratories, making her a highly respected voice in the field. This seminar is meant to provide medical laboratory scientists, managers and directors an appreciation on the role automation plays, its current utilisation in the clinical laboratory and to provide future insights in this important field in ensuring quality in medical testing.

    1. To receive and confirm last year's AGM Meeting Minutes

    2. To receive the ExCO's annual report for 2025

    3. To receive the Statement of Accounts for 1st January 2025 – 31st December 2025

    4. To consider any other business for which prior written notice (resolutions proposed by members) has been received two weeks (no later than 8th April 2026) before the AGM in accordance with the constitution

    5. Election of Executive Committee Members

    ABMLPS members (Ordinary) with Active membership may attend & vote during the meeting.

    ABMLPS Associate, Corporate and Student members may also attend but will not be allowed to vote.

    At the meeting, members will have the opportunity to:

    - find out about ABMLPS's operations and finances

    - ask questions about the operations and finances of ABMLPS

    - speak about any items on the agenda

    - vote on any resolutions proposed

    At the meeting, members will be asked to vote to:

    - accept the minutes of the last annual general meeting

    - accept the annual report

    - accept the annual financial statements

    - appoint auditor(s)

    Important Notes:
    This event is for ABMLPS members only. Only ordinary members may vote.

    Eligible non-members may apply for membership online HERE

    We require you to register your attendance with the ABMLPS Secretariat, preferably by Wednesday, 15th April 2026:

    a. for security reasons;

    b. to register you for the seminar and AGM;

    c. to check that you are a current member of ABMLPS; and

    d. in order to allow us time to arrange your refreshments.

    This is to avoid a situation where there is not enough catering for everyone and a line at registration to check your eligibility to attend the AGM.
